To be honest, I was never exactly interested in English in the first place. I had always hated the subject and thought of it as inane and dull. Mr. Sherill changed all that and it was through his encouragement that I actually sharpen my skills in writing and reading. His unique remarks and jokes would be dearly miss. Mr. Sherill, where ever you are, please rest in peace. Know that you have touched upon many others and we will touch upon others from what we have learned from you. You will be missed, dearly.
I had Mr. Sherrill in my sophomore year and by far he is and will remain my favorite English teacher. He made Engish interesting and challenged us to think beyond the literal meanings of anything we read. I will never forget how you evaluated us based on one's personal efforts and not always on what was the grade written on top of our exams. I along with all the students who were fortunate enough to have you will miss you. Thank you for being the wonderful English teacher that you were. Rest in peace, Mr. Sherrill.
Mr. Sherill is the hardest English teacher i have had so far including my college career. He is also the only English teacher who have taught me the most and for that i want to thank you.
